FAQ
- How can I get a repository here?
- What is the URL to my repository?
- The URLs are on the form https://svn.ii.uib.no/r/repositoryname, where repositoryname is the name of your repository.
- My colleague also needs access to my repository, how is this done?
- Specify what you want done in an issue to us, and we will accommodate you. If your colleague doesn't already have an account,
we will make sure he gets one.
- Can you set up public read access to some or all of my repository?
- What's my password?
- How much space can I use?
- There is no set limit, but please be reasonable. Subversion is a tool for version control, not for voluminous file storage.
- Do you support hook scripts?
- Yes, but you can't edit them yourself. We can accommodate many needs; ask us if hook scripts are right for you.
- Can I have Trac with my repository?
- How does this relate to the repositories at http[s]://www.ii.uib.no/svn/repositoryname?
- It's the same server with the same repositories and the same users and passwords. By switching to svn.ii.uib.no, your data is more secure thanks to mandatory SSL,
and you make our service easier to maintain. The old URLs should be regarded as deprecated. If you want to switch your existing working copy to use the new URL, go to the root
of your working copy and use the command svn switch --relocate http://www.ii.uib.no/svn/repositoryname https://svn.ii.uib.no/r/repositoryname where the first
URL is the current one (get the URL with svn info, look for the line Repository Root) and the second URL is the new one. If you need help with this,
please contact us.
